Sophie Smith (CA MBA)
Sophie qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, spending time in their Owner Managed Business and Corporate Tax divisions. She holds an MBA (with distinction) from the University of Oxford. Her years in senior finance and managerial roles within entrepreneurial companies give her insight from the other side of the desk.
Alice Seden (FCA and MA (Cantab)
After graduating from Queen’s College Cambridge with a Natural Sciences degree, Alice went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant with an independent firm and joined the Glenton Smith team in 2017. Experienced in financial reporting for SMEs and charities, she is an expert in accounting for UK and international business transactions. She has in depth knowledge of Xero and Quickfile as well as other cloud-based accounting packages and has assisted clients’ transition to Xero from other accounting software. Alice also has extensive experience of helping companies prepare for sale, including due diligence work, and assisting integration with new owners after the sale.
Louise Jones (CTA)
Chartered Tax Adviser
Louise brings over 20 years’ taxation experience to Glenton Smith. Louise trained with accountants Harper Broom based in Maidenhead and now works part-time for them and Glenton Smith, giving her experience with a wide range of tax issues. As well as being a personal tax specialist, she’s also highly knowledgeable about payroll and auto-enrolment pensions.
Karen joined Glenton Smith in 2015 and has trained as a bookkeeper within the firm. She works with a wide variety of our clients, including manufacturers, consultancies and services businesses. Karen has been instrumental in introducing Hubdoc into our work processes and most of our bookkeeping clients are now reaping the benefits of its document management and data-extraction capabilities alongside Xero. Her past employment with large advertising agencies gives her an edge when it comes with planning and account management, especially valuable when meeting VAT return deadlines for multiple clients.
Bookkeeper and Practice Manager
Sarah joined the team in 2017 following several years as bookkeeper and office manager for her family business. Sarah now runs the bookkeeping and the flexible finance department services for one of our larger clients, including cash flow management, paying suppliers, HMRC and employees. Sarah also manages the accounting function, business administration and marketing for Glenton Smith.
